Seasons of Suffering aren’t always easy to walk through. However, Romans 5:3-5 reminds us that this painful walk isn’t for nothing:
“And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”
We all go through difficult times. Not one person is exempt from that. But we have hope and faith that through those difficult times, we have the opportunity to make the best of it. We can allow those hard times to destroy us or we can allow those hard times to form and shape our character into the likeness of Christ. Seasons of Suffering are just that – they are painful, defeating, and most times way too long.
In spite of our circumstance, however, we can choose to obey and honor God in our seasons of suffering. We can choose to let him mold us into the person he wants us to be. When all hope is lost, when all sense of the words “win” or “victory” is erased from our vocabulary, we have the opportunity to look that adversity straight in the eye and say, “But Jesus…”
Be encouraged and empowered this week to know that Jesus suffers along side you. And if there is anything we can be doing to help you this week, we want to come along side you as well and help you in your own season of suffering. Let us know how we can help by going to our Prayer Wall Here. You can post publicly or anonymously.
